Skinwalkers

Story :Ein zwölfjähriger Junge und seine Mutter geraten zwischen die Fronten zweier verfeindeter Werwolfrudel.
Eine Gruppe hat geschworen den Jungen zu beschützen während die andere versucht Ihn zu töten. Die Mutter will nun herausfinden warum ihr Sohn im Mittelpunkt dieses Konflikts steht, bevor es zu spät ist.

Original Synopsis : SKINWALKERS is a horror action film about a 12-year-old boy who suddenly finds himself at the center of a battle between two warring groups of werewolves.

One group of werewolves is sworn to protect him, the other group is trying to kill him – and the young boy’s mother has to find out why her son is at the center of the conflict before time runs out.

SKINWALKERS marks Lions Gate’s first collaboration with legendary "Creature Mogul" Stan Winston, who heads the premier creature visual effects studio in the industry and has created cutting edge, award-winning special effects for the Terminator series, the Jurassic Park franchise and Steven Spielberg's big-budget spectacular War of the Worlds.

Oh wie geil, da das Werwolfgenre derzeit so oder so mein Lieblingshorrorgenre ist, freue ich mich rießig auf den Film, zumindest auf Trailer, Poster, Bilder usw
Hätte wirklich nicht gedacht, das noch Werwolffilme gedreht werden (abgesehen von Underworld).

Da kann ich mich ja nur freuen

Hört sich ja von der Idee schon mal recht interessant an - Jason X war Drehbuchbedingt nicht grad der Reißer aber für ein schmales Budget zumindest sauber inszeniert.....

Damit dürfte der Film ja die Drehbuchphase verlassen haben

Wenn ich mehr von Lions Gate, als die offiziellen Castingnews, habe werde ich sicher den Thread noch mehr updaten.

Übrigens: Rhona "Lara Croft Modell" Mitra spielt auch mit.

Ach hab ich mir doch gleich gedacht, dass Rhona Mitra mal Lara Croft Model war!

Lion Gates hat schon immer gute Horrorfilme produziert. Die Bilder verraten nicht viel, aber wenn die Werewölfe nicht so wie in Das Tier aussehen, könnte es interessant werden.
Nach An American Werewolf in London gibt es leider keine Werewölfe mehr, die halb Mensch, hab Werewolf sind und so geile Masken wie in Michael Jacksons Thriller wäre mal was anderes.

find ich cool, dass auch ma wieder in diesem Genre ein neuer Film an den Start geht. und den Jason mag ich eh seit „Roswell“ sehr gern.
klingt alles bis jetzt sehr nett, dauert aber wohl ma noch ne Weile.
will nen Trailer, der auch bei meinem doofen Mac funktioniert!

Meint ihr die Werwölfe sehen wirklich so aus, wie auf dem Bild? (Wenn man es makiert sieht man mehr^^)
Find ich ganz gut, das Fell sieht viel einfallsreicher aus, als in anderen Werwolffilmen net nur durchgehend ein Farbton, sondern schön Abwechslungsreich gefällt mir...oder ist das einfach nur einer der schon in die Jahre gekommen is

Das Interview hab ich gelesen, ist recht nett. War allerdings schon im Oktober. Keine Ahnung, aber ich glaube das Bild ist nicht vom Film. Wenn es vom Film wäre hätten sie es sicher mit einer News ala "Erstes Werwolfbild von Skinwalkers" gebracht.

Da der Film erst Dezember 2006 in die US Kinos kommt, kann es noch dauern mit den coolen Bildern. Allerdings wer weiss? Möglicherweise tauchen die ersten Fotos auch schon sehr bald auf. Schwer zu sagen.

Die Idee klingt vielversprechend. Ein 35 Mio $ Budget ist auch ordentlich für nen Horrorfilm dieser Art. Bin auf den Trailer gespannt, auch wenn's noch eine ganze Weile dauern wird, die Bilder sagen bis jetzt nicht wirklich viel.

O nein. Skinwalkers wurde nun nach hinten verlegt. Ich hielt immer schön Ausschau und hoffte, dass wir endlich mal einen Trailer sehen können. Nun soll er nicht mehr im Dezember anlaufen, sondern erst im April. Wirklich sehr schade. Ich persönlich freue mich auch schon enorm. Die Geschichte hört sich echt nicht schlecht an und könnte ziemlich interessant werden. Ich liebe Werwölfe sowieso über alles. Nur leider konnten mich viele (von der Figur her) nicht wirklich überzeugen. Demnach gefielen mir nur wenige Werwolffilme bisher. An Skinwalkers habe ich sehr hohe Erwartungen. Mal schauen, was wir zu sehen bekommen.

Tonight I had the opportunity to get a sneak peak at the movie "Skinwalkers;" a new film by creature effects guy James Issasc's. He is probably best known for his work on "The Fly" and "Enemy Mine." I had heard about this film a few months back when I had the pleasure of attending a screening of "Alien" at the wonderful Arclight in Hhe creature effects were supposedly a twist on the usual werewolf film. So when a ticket for this film passed my way, I jumped at the chance.

The story (which I was in the dark about before) is about a 12 year old boy caught in the crossfire between two warring werewolf clans. One consists of werewolves happy to feed on humans, while the other camp believes they're cursed and are trying to find a way to become fully human again. They look to a 12 year old boy, who was prophesized (never made totally clear by who) to have something within him that would cure them of their terrible burden. But the catch is he has to live until his 13th birthday, and while that seems simple enough the werewolves who want to remain that way don't want to see that happen. Three days prior to his 13th birthday, the moon turns red, signaling that the prophecy is going to come true. So the whole movie is basically this race to keep him alive to break the curse.

Stating it simply the movie unfortunately is not very good. I've seen the standard werewolf films, like "The Howling" and "A Werewolf in London." Both of which I thought were great for different reasons I won't get into here. Then I've seen ones I really didn't like…ehem… "Cursed." So I was hoping for a lot here knowing that Stan Winston was involved. The problem with this film is it has trouble finding itself. You don't know if this is supposed to be serious, or one big joke. Parts that are not meant to be funny are funny because they're so absurd, and then parts that are meant to be lighthearted leave you confused and wondering if you just missed a laugh.

The acting was very mixed across the board, but no one hit any major high notes with me. I had a hard time seeing Jason Behr, who plays the leader of the "we love to be werewolves gang," as being very villainous. Elias Koteas, who leads to good guys, was fine in the role but his performance was just bland and didn't stand out much. Then you have Rhona Mitra, who I loved on "Boston Legal" and on "Nip/Tuck." She was perfectly fine, if anything I thought she was too good for some of the annoyingly badly written lines she was uttering. The child actor was just that, a child actor, 'nough said.

I was hoping that the creature effects if anything would be the highlight, but even those left something to be desired. I was looking forward to a great transformation scene, something akin to "A Werewolf in London." So I waited…and waited…and was left empty handed. The transformed werewolves did look somewhat different then ones I'm more accustomed to. As opposed to simply being big dogs, these were more human in appearance. Imagine Michael at the end of "Underworld" but much harrier, and there you go. The female werewolves were probably the most different then anything I'd seen before. Usually you can't tell a female werewolf from a male one. But these kept a more feminine figure when they transformed, and their faces became more elongated then the males. Point being, it was very easy to distinguish.

Even though I didn't have high hopes for this film, I was still hoping the creature effects would save it. But they weren't enough to carry this film to the end, and had I paid for it I would have felt cheated out of $10. There wasn't anything that distinguished this film from any others similar to it that I've seen. So my recommendation when this film hits a theater near you is rent "A Werewolf in London" and be thankful for it.

das Interview klingt sehr danach, als hätte sich da jemand mal sehr viele Gedanken zur Story gemacht. leider verspricht das alles noch nich all zu viel. schde, dass der Film erst sooo unendlich spät anläuft. bis dahin habe ich doch vergessen, dass es den gibt. und dabei wollte ich Jason Behr so gern mal wieder sehen.

Gibt es überhaupt den Trailer von diesem Film,lange nichts mehr gehört.
